about
In 2008, with my 4-track tape machine, I conceived an EP that was never fully realized. From those sessions, I salvaged this song; A laid back medieval folk version of Black Sabbath's "The National Acrobat".
While I never finished the full EP, I made some simple artwork, composed of contortionists from printer Carington Bowles' "The Comical Hotch-Potch or the Alphabet turn'd Posture-Master", first printed in 1782. Growing up, my folks had a children's jigsaw puzzle of the hotch potch, which I studied endlessly. The idea to use it's various posture-masters for my own purposes crystalized pretty early. A song with a title like "The National Acrobat" was perfect.
